The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation aims to draw attention to global humanitarian issues through its people-centered projects. In this vein, the TRT Humanitarian Film Festival offers directors, young filmmakers, university students, and emerging storytellers the opportunity to express their unique perspectives through cinema.
Now in its eighth year, the festival serves as a dynamic platform where our students can participate with high-quality, innovative, and inspiring works. Applications can be submitted online at trthumanitarianfilmfestival.com until June 15, 2026. Filmmakers from around the world will be hosted during the festival to showcase their works to the audience, and semifinalists will have the opportunity to participate in workshops led by leading figures in the industry. At the awards ceremony held at the end of the festival, awards will be presented to the producers of the top three films, as well as to the producers and directors winning the TRT Special Award. The prize amounts for the festival have been set at $10,000 for first place, $7,500 for second place, and $5,000 for third place.
The festival provides a platform for filmmakers aiming to shed light on global humanitarian issues such as war, conflict, women’s rights, migration, climate change, and poverty.
